With business slowing down, now is the perfect time to review your business practice protocols and procedures. Why? To see if they are THE best practices you can have to improve efficiency and for protecting you from any potential liability for your business. In this class, we will cover how to ensure your appraisal practice complies with USPAP and housing rules against bias. We will also review scope of work issues, the competency rule, different types of engagement letters, anatomy of the appraisal fee, and office protocols. We will go over how to bulletproof your workfile and how to check if your E&0 insurance coverage includes liability for discrimination and other issues. We will also talk about how to prepare yourself for the upcoming GSE form changes and the role of technology in your appraisal practice. At the end, there will be a small group discussion and sharing of other appraisers' best practices.
